Your headquarters in Monaco, why not?

The installation of any economic activity (whether commercial, industrial, handicraft, or of services) in the Principality, is subordinated to obtaining a preliminary authorization on behalf of the Princely Government. In accordance with the provisions stated in the Law n° 1 144 of July 26, 1991, the instruction of the files of request for creating any economic activity falls on the Direction de l’Expansion Economique.

The granted authorization determines the activity’s limits : duration, authorised activities, where the activities will be concentrated, and, if necessary, exercise conditions.

These authorizations are personal and inalienable, and any change in this activity must be the object of a new authorization

The Direction de L’Expansion Economique can suspend the given activity authorization in the event of non respect of enacted regulations in the Law # 1144, referred to above (absence of real activity, non conformity with the authorization)

Legal forms of exploitation

Starting from One-man business to the E.G.I (economic grouping of interests) or the particular partnership as well as the commercial groupings, varied types of legal forms are available. The creation of a commercial company passes by one of these four legal forms:

the S.N.C, partnership
the S.C.S, limited liability partnership
the S.C.A, joint-stock company
the S.A.M, limited company Monegasque

In addition there is a possibility to exercise a commercial activity in the Principality by creating an administrative office or an agency. If your personal status allows it, you have the possibility to benefit from the Trust status.

Foreign Exchanges

Following the French-Monegasques conventions, the customs and exchange regulations are the same in Monaco as in France, freedom of capital’s movement is thus total. Although being a part of the French territory in the definition of the customs borders of the European Economic Union, the Principality is not a member of this union.
